Suffix - I Need You

Once again, sorry for the lack of updates!

I just finished listening to Suffix's EP - I Need You, which contains three tracks - I Need You, Do Your Thing and Love in 95 and I've got to say I'm really liking the first track on the EP. It's got a bit of a house vibe to it which is what initially drew me to the song. Give it a listen and check out the rest of his EP here.

Common - I Want You (Kaytranada Edition)

I was waiting for a dope remix of this song to pop up and finally here it is. This is one of my favourite Common tracks and Kaytranada has done it again with a simple yet effective remix. Love the bassline on this one.

Syv - Looking For Love

Great new track from Syv... Loving the laid back, old school garage feel.

Bastille - Of The Night (MNEK Remix)

To me this song encapsulates my idea of what a modern day feel-good song sounds like. When the beat dropped, I couldn't help but leap from my chair - I knew it was an instant banger. My fellow Igbo, MNEK, has done it again with this incredible remix of Bastille's cover of an old school classic, Rhythm of the Night. He is all over the music scene right now but isn't getting the recognition he deserves. He's a dope producer and an amazing singer - why aren't more people listening to his magical creations?!

SOHN 'Lessons' (XO Edit)

Sorry I have't posted in a while, been inundated with uni work! I will try and post more during the week. Anyway, here's another XO music remix which I love. The beat from 2.28 - 2.45 is magical for me haha I love it - chilled vibes yet something you can cut shapes to at certain points! Definitely feeling this one.

Sub Focus - Close ft. MNEK

Some nice deep house/ dance. MNEK's voice never fails to amaze me! The beat is just dirty at some points - great collab between Sub Focus and MNEK.

Wilfred Giroux - You Don't Know What Love Is

I posted the clip for You Don't Know What Love Is by Wilfred Giroux last month and now the full version has been released. Enjoy!

We Do - Lxury

Ahh another great collab between Lxury (formerly Luxury) and Disclosure. I hope the boys do more collaborations together because collectively they're producing amazing dance music!

Submotion Orchestra - All Yours (Syv Remix)

Such a beautiful track/remix. I can't get enough of this one... I've had it on repeat for the last few days.

Pomo - So Fine

After indulging in constant house/ deep house on a daily basis, sometimes it's just nice to sit back, chill and really appreciate the beauty of sounds. The synth on this track sounds amazing and adds a whole different level of funk/ groove to the song. Regardless of what genres you're into, you'll love this one.

Disclosure feat. London Grammar 'Help Me Lose My Mind' Paul Woolford Remix

All I can imagine is listening to this song live and how amazing it would be. The vocals and bass... Omg. I definitely prefer this Paul Woolford remix over the original. I love that during certain parts of the song it sounds very 80s with the beat and the vocals.

Le Youth - C O O L (DJ Sliink Remix)

I heard this remix play while I was at work last weekend and immediately liked it. It's faster than the original version and it makes a big difference.

Sid Batham - All Lies (Blonde Remix)

Absolutely love this... Especially when the beat drops and the house kicks in! Another great remix from Blonde.

Breach - Jack (Taiki & Nulight Remix)

LET'S JACK! This is definitely one of my favourite remixes of Jack by Breach. I love the garage feel and the added bass! Oh yes.

Storm Queen - Look Right Through (MK Remix) Official Video

Trippy, confusing and weird are the best ways to describe the new visuals for the song we've all been humming and dancing along to for a while now - Storm Queen's 'Look Right Through' (MK Remix). The song isn't as deep as MK's dub III remix version - I think that this version has been created with a video to appeal to a wider audience who aren't as infatuated with deep house as some of us are. I must say I love 2.48-2.52 when the guy starts shuffling. Apart from that, the video doesn't make any sense at all, but I don't think it needs to!

Kiri & Prospera - Too Far [Parables Volume One]

Great house track. Looking forward to hearing more from the Parables series by Symbols in October.

You Don't Know What Love Is (Clip) - Wilfred Giroux

Absolutely loving the production on this track. This is only a clip, so I can't wait to hear the full version!

Rudimental - Baby (Kayzee Remix) ft. MKEK & Sinead Harnett

I'm pretty certain that Rudimental's Baby is the most played track on my iTunes at the moment. There's just something really beautiful and catchy about the song which is only amplified by MNEK and Sinead Harnett's incredible mesh of voices and tones. It's by far the best song on their Home album so I was excited when they launched a competition to encourage their fans and creative folks to remix their song. I've spent a good amount of time going through the various remixes that have been uploaded so far and found myself drawn to one in particular.

The groove added to the original song is crazy. During certain parts of the remix, the chords do a subtle little funky riff and it's beautiful. Listen to what I mean at 1.39-1.41. Some of the other remix attempts simply add a slightly different beat/ extra chords but retain the songs original state and flow. But I love this remix because it samples the song, using bits and pieces from the original vocals and beat whilst still coming across as an original song in its own right.

Forrest - Shiny Suit Man (Bodhi Remix)

Bodhi brings us a chilled and soothing remix of Forrest's Shiny Suit Man which I absolutely love. I got back from work at 3am last night, went onto SoundCloud, found this track and couldn't stop listening to it!

Watch Out For: Reset Safari

Want your dose of deep house music? Have a listen to these two tracks by Reset Safari. Both songs remind me of the type of music that was played in Ibiza in places like Pacha and DC10. So gutted I missed him playing at Egg this Saturday!

Shem - Triangular Perplexity VIP

So I posted Meeting by Shem the other day and I'm about to bring you another banger from the young Producer. I first listened to his track Triangular Perplexity a couple of weeks ago when I came across Meeting, but I wasn't drawn to the song because it was a little too mellow for me. Then a few days ago, he released a deeper version of the song that I absolutely fell in love with because of the more prominent sounds. Have a listen!

Bondax - Giving It All (Official Music Video)

The visuals to Bondax's Giving It All prove that you really can't help who you fall in love with.
Also check out the remix by Friends Within that I posted a few days ago here.

J.A.W.S by Luxury

I believe Disclosure helped to produce this gem and it shows. It has that Disclosure production vibe to it that reminds me of their older bangers, Tenderly and Flow. If the chords on this track don't put you in a bubbly and chilled mood, I don't know what will!

Safe With You (KEYS N KRATES REMIX) - Alex Metric & Jacques Lu Cont

I probably wouldn't have posted the original of this song but after hearing the Keys N Krates remix, I can't get enough of this song. When the beat drops, it's mental. It's glitchy and trappy and shows just how a remix should be produced!

Anna Lunoe - Breathe

House? Dance? Sounds like a combo of the two genres and it works really well. You'll enjoy cutting shapes to this one - you literally won't stop moving!

Drake - Hold On, We're Going Home (Kastle Remix)

There's nothing I love more than when a remix is better than the original. Kastle has done it again with a great production featuring Drake's Hold On, We're Going Home. I absolutely love the house rhythm that has been added!

Jade - Every Day Of The Week (Stwo Edition)

Just listen to the sounds and you'll fall in love. Two of my other favourite tracks from stwo are You and Lust. Watch out for him; he's doing big things in music!

The Fat! Club EP008

Take a listen to this 25 minute EP from The Fat! Club. Every single song is a banger to be honest, so I can't decide on a favourite from the five tracks. Such good vibes all around!

Shem - Meeting

Who doesn't love a bit of deep house? I'm loving this track by Shem Douglas. The sounds involved work really well together to create a unique yet recognisable deep house vibe.

Charles Murdoch - Dekire Feat. Oscar Key Sung (Bodhi Remix)

Bodhi... Oh yes. The guys have done a really good job here. This is one of those remixes you instantly fall in love with after the first few seconds of listening to it. Smooth house yet there's a depth to it that makes the track absolutely beautiful! You'll hear it once and I guarantee you'll have it on repeat.

Blonde - Be Mine (XO Remix)

The original of this track is pretty damn good to be honest, but I like what XO Music has done with it. It's been sped up slightly, a deeper bass line has been added and there's more of an obvious garage feel to it. Listen to the original yourself and decide which is better.

MNEK v Disclosure - White Noise Remixes

There are two solid versions of MNEK's refix of White Noise by Disclosure and AlunaGeorge that I've had on repeat since I heard them earlier this year. The original refix (above) is a very deep and gritty version with bass. Even though MNEK tags it is 'pop electronic', I think it's a bit more than that even though I can't fit it into a specific genre.

The second version is a remix of a remix - Full Crate and FS Green decided to remix MNEK's version of White Noise and came up with a smoother and more soulful sound that reminds me of a blend of garage and soulful funky house. It's definitely more house oriented, softer and bubblier than MNEK's original version. Nonetheless, MNEK's incredible voice prevails in both versions displaying real raw talent!

Listen to both and decide which one is better. They're both different but on par to me.

Giving It All (Friend Within Remix)

I still haven't heard the full version of Bondax's Giving It All (should be out 22/09), but I've had a good listen to a few of the remixes of the song and I think that the Friends Within Remix is the best version. It's a lot more upbeat and house-inspired than Joe Goddard's remix and the French Kiwi Juice remix. If you like a more chilled remix that is fairly similar to the clip of the original track then the latter two versions I mentioned will be perfect for you. I am surprised though that the Friends Within remix has the lowest plays/ likes/ reposts of the three remixes on Soundcloud; I think it does the best job of differing itself from the original.

Banks - Warm Water (Snakehips Remix)

I've heard a few remixes of Banks' Warm Water but this one definitely stands out. There's a clear 'feel good' vibe and grooviness to the chords that leaves you feeling as though you're chilling in the sun by the pool side. Not too sure what genre I'd class this in though - maybe modern groove/ funk? Nonetheless, the smooth edge of this track will definitely put a smile on your face. Also, watch out for Banks; by next year she's bound to be a big name in music!

Only For Tonight (Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs Remix) - Zinc ft. Sasha Keable

This has got to be one of my favourite house tracks this year. The beat is amazing, the bass is massive and it has been my daily 'en route to work' tune for a while now! If you haven't heard it, have a listen.

Finder (Original Mix) - Ninetoes

I believe I was at Space in Ibiza listening to Carl Cox's set late last month when Finder (Original Mix) by Ninetoes came on and I almost passed out from the euphoric feeling it gave me. I was far too gone to whip out my iPhone and Shazam it, but the tune lingered in my mind. Then two days ago at XOYO, I heard the song again. This time, I was in the right frame of mind to Shazam it. With the song safely stored on my iPhone, I enjoyed the rest of my night knowing I had the name of one of my favourite songs of the summer tucked away. After some research, I also discovered that Ninetoes sampled the 1978 song 'The Path' by Ralph MacDonald.

This was definitely the best song of Ibiza 2013 for me and based on some of the comments I've seen written about Finder, a lot of people agree. Have a listen yourself and enjoy!
